Understanding Behavior, Creating Change

Hi, I'm Melissa Druskis

I'm a Clinical Behavior Analyst and the founder of Modiv Behavioral. I’ve spent the past 10+ years helping children, teens, and adults overcome behavioral challenges using practical, science-backed methods that actually work. With a background in behavioral science, neuroscience, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Habit Reversal Training (HRT), I bring a unique, integrative approach to behavior change that focuses on what matters most: helping people move forward in their lives.

At Modiv, we understand that behavior is communication. Whether it's a child struggling with tics or OCD, a teen overwhelmed by perfectionism and ADHD-related challenges, or an adult caught in cycles of substance use, we look beneath the surface to uncover the function of the behavior—what purpose it serves—and build a customized, evidence-based plan for sustainable change. Our work is designed to support not just behavior change, but self-awareness, emotional regulation, and long-term well-being.

The Science Behind What We Do

Our work is grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Clinical Behavior Analysis—evidence-based frameworks for understanding and improving behavior in meaningful, sustainable ways.

We integrate these foundations with:

  • ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy): to help clients clarify their values and take purposeful action, even in the presence of anxiety, urges, or distress

  • DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy): to build emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness

  • ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention): the frontline behavioral treatment for OCD and related anxiety patterns

  • REBT (Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy): to address unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that contribute to substance use and self-defeating patterns

  • CBIT (Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics) & HRT (Habit Reversal Training): gold-standard behavioral treatments for tics, hair-pulling, skin picking, and other body-focused repetitive behaviors

  • Neuroscience-informed strategies: incorporating brain-based insights to support learning, habit change, and emotional development

Together, these approaches provide a flexible, compassionate framework for treating a wide range of concerns—from pediatric behavioral challenges to adult patterns of OCD, tics, addiction, and avoidance—with collaboration, respect, and measurable results.
